Marlene came to Stoic Energy Consulting after working for Jolt Initiative as the Project Manager, where she developed and managed strategies for engagement and impact ranging from climate justice campaigns to leadership programming for Latinx youth.
Prior to Jolt, Marlene worked at Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid for a decade. During her time at TRLA, she shaped an outreach and engagement plan to increase legal education along the Texas-Mexico border and surrounding rural areas on title disputes, real property tax foreclosures, and wills and estates. Marlene also helped expand environmental justice education and outreach efforts in the Rio Grande Valley to increase water quality complaints, permitting and enforcement matters.
Marlene brings a wealth of knowledge in project management, collaborative partnerships, community advocacy on a local and statewide level, and creating robust campaign planning representing the narratives of the borderlands and Latinx communities.
Marlene is a first-generation college graduate from Kalamazoo College where she earned a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology with a concentration in Media Studies and studied Spanish Language and Literature at the Universidad de San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador.
