Heather is a Manager on RMI’s Urban Transformation program, where she works with local governments and other stakeholders on accelerating climate action.
When joining RMI in 2016, Heather worked on mobility transformation initiatives aimed at creating a future of shared, electric mobility-as-a-service and reinventing the urban environment. When joining the Urban Transformation team in 2019, Heather shifted her focus to electricity decarbonization initiatives such as supporting local governments procure renewable energy through innovative utility partnerships and supporting a variety of stakeholders in regulatory reform and legislative engagements that advance state-wide decarbonization.
Before RMI, Heather worked at Austin Energy on the Electric Vehicle and Emerging Technologies team where she worked primarily on the Department of Energy’s grant funded SunShot Initiative, Sustainable and Holistic Integration of Energy Storage and Solar PV (SHINES) project. She also worked at Meridian Solar, CleanTech Open, and CleanTX, where she ran the first-ever EV group-buy in Texas.
Heather holds a Master of Science in International Cooperation Policy with a focus on International Material Flow Management from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, in partnership with Trier University of Applied Sciences and a B.A. in Environmental Sustainability, Planning and Management from the University of Oklahoma.
